Oxxio started in 2000 with two entrepreneurs seeing that things could be done differently in the world of energy. More simple and cheaper. In 2002 I was involved with the People & HR set-up of this new low-cost player in the energy market.
From day one the HR strategy was connected to the company strategy. We determined the core capabilities (Oxxio DNA) of all employees that were to be recruited for this new company. In 2005 Oxxio was sold for 145 million euros to Centrica, opposed to a much smaller initial investment. Connecting the HR strategy to the company strategy has been the foundation of this success.
