Vodafone Netherlands and Ziggo merged in 2017 to found a new company with Liberty Global and Vodafone Group as equal shareholders. VodafoneZiggo is a Dutch company offering fixed, mobile and integrated communication and entertainment services to consumers and businesses.

The joint venture provided a total new dynamic. A new company had to be built with its own purpose, strategic objectives, integrated proposition in addition to all HR related matters.

The initial assignment was the organizational design of Customer Operations (approximately 3,000 FTEs) from a People & HR perspective. Part of the assignment was also redefining the location strategy. Together with a motivated team we realized the HR implementation of both organizations (approximately 8,000 fte). What contributed to the realization of this assignment? ‘Stick to the plan’, communicate intensively and at different levels and put the human factor at the top of the agenda during implementation.
